A Family Business

At Spicy Bambu, our commitment to supporting our friends, neighbors and family in Bali is strong; therefore our business mission is to connect our customers with the culture and the people of Bali the best we can.  The mystical and powerful culture of Bali, Indonesia is reflected in the arts and products we import.  The dynamic prints of the hand-batiked rayon fabrics are each one-of-a-kind.  Our clothing is our own brand; hand cut, sewn and sent to Spicy Bambu.

Our Manufacturers

We are proud to have worked together with Pak Budi and his family for over 10 years now. The facility is well-lit and has up-to-date machines and technology.  Our sewers and workers are happy and paid fair wages.  Our patterns are made and used exclusively for Spicy Bambu.

Patterns Sewing

All of the fabric is made especially for Spicy Bambu.  It is ordered specifically for us from a batik shop.

Storefront

Years of experience in design and retail clothing has given us first-hand knowledge of styles and prints that women prefer. Working hand-in-hand with the artisans brings upon a confidence that everyone benefits from the purchase of one of our dresses.

Children's Education Project

Over the years Spicy Bambu along with generous donations from customers and friends have sponsored all the children in the village of Apityeh to attend primary school.  Uniforms, backpacks, school supplies and more have been given to each child to prepare them for the school year. This has brought an increased sense of importance placed on education in the village, along with high self esteem for the kids.

Clean Water Project

Recently, the water pump in the village has broke and hundreds of people in Wayan’s village are without running water,  leaving his family and others to carry water from the river a distance away.  To bring water to the village again, and purchase a pump would cost thousands of dollars.  This year we are looking to raise money to bring water to the people.  Spicy Bambu will donate money to this cause though sales this summer.  We are also looking for kind donations.  Please e-mail us in regards to this project and if you are interested in getting involved. We hope you feel comfortable and confident in our clothing and connected to our mission of helping children and families in Bali, Indonesia.
